Well over now! 2007 guys! thanks for the entries!


Ever since people have begun colouring my lines I have kept a special folder with all of them in, today I opened the folder up and decided to count how many there are. 150. Wow. My lines have been coloured over 150 times! Thats crazy.

Since people like colouring my lines I thought- what the hell, ill make a little competition

Most (if not all) of them have been coloured so that the colourer can gain more personal skill with colouring, they were only competition against themselves, but with this comp id really love to see the bar raised

The rules are simple: Colour my lines!

You don't have to use one of those, there are some more in my scraps. Also if there is art in my gallery you want to colour but the linearts not there note me and ill get it up

FAQ

Can I alter your linearts?
Yes, but only a little... If its something you really think will enhance the picture go for it As long as my lines are still recognisable.

Can I enter more than once?
Sure you can! Though I do look for quality over quantity

Can I enter something iv already coloured of yours?
Nope! If it was posted onto Deviantart any date before this journal was posted its not eligible to win. This is a competition rather than just colouring for fun after all
You man re-colour the same piece of mine to enter it into the comp though J

Does it have to have a background?
Well remember this is a competition so id do whatever you think is best to gain the top spots

Can it be in any media?
Yes sure! If you want to print lines out and colour it traditionaly your more than welcome, I do love creativity!

Are any of these standing characters of yours that you'd like us to use similar colour schemes?
No! Id like you to be original Do something that possibly I wouldnt have thought of myself
just because in my colouring I have the girl sitting on the beach doesn't mean you have to!

Would it be okay if I coloured it but in the end you couldn't actually see the lines?
Sure as long as you follow my lines, I hav no problenm with that

Can I make the boarders of your picture bigger?
Yes you may ^^ if you would like to give yourself a larger canvas area to put a background or enviroment inplease feel free, dont feel confined by the original constraints

Can you give my any hits as to what yor looking for/judging on?
Ohhh what a naughtly question! Theres no exact criteria, so you can't do much wrong. Despite my blue namesake it doesn't mean id prefer to see blue colour shemes, there are no colours I wouldn't like to see!
Things I would like to see: originality, hard worked on images with thoughts like light sources, tones , complimenting colous, settings even different ways of shading

I heard abput your competition thrpugh gaia, iv coloured your lines and submitted it to an imagehosting site, is that alright?
Well its great to hear youvew come over from gaia however to be eligable for the competition you MUST submit your coloured piece to Deviantart, that way I can keep track of them and post a journal with all the thumbs in

How come you haven't commented on my colouring?
On your deviation I will write that you are now a confirmed entrant, however im not going to comment on your actual colouring. This is because I want to remain unbiased. Its not really fair if you see me say on one 'OMG I LOVE IT' and then on yours I say something like 'oh its okay' because then you might think your not going to win or I already like theirs better. Also im worried the niceness of the comments I leave may make people fall int the trap of thinking they've won before its over However after the contest is finished if you would like my full oppinion on the colouring just ask! ^^
