Words of Thanks

I wish I could personally thank every single one of you who has shown me and my art support, it's not always possible to reply personally to each comment I get. I do read every single one!
So I must give a heartfelt thank you here and let you know how much I appreciate all of your kind words and support over the years.
I hope continuing sharing with you little pieces of my soul through my art is thanks enough

FAQ

Where did you learn to draw?
I'm completely self taught! My high school art teacher told me cartoons were not art, so I didn't peruse any formal education in art. My drive came from within, to draw something into existence has always been intoxicating for me.

Where do you get your inspiration?
Drawing is the way I can best express myself. My art is like a visual diary, documenting feelings, thoughts and events. I find my inspirations all over, most often in everyday life, or the need get crap out of my head onto paper.
Please don't let me darker work fool you. I'm naturally a cheerful person; who has struggled with tough times. During the hard times I use drawing as an escape, a way to vent and put my story on paper, to be constructive with the destructive thoughts. It's been a life saver.

Do you do commissions?
Never, sorry. If someone is controlling my pen with their money I find it stifling. Staying independent is really important to me. I need to tell my own stories, an I know you guys appreciate seeing original work :)

Do you do requests?
No, sorry. See above. Minus money. This includes drawing you XD

What tools do you use?
PhotoShop CS6 and SAI, and a Wacom intuos3 drawing tablet, or my snazzy new Cintiq Companion. I recommend looking at Wacoms 'Bamboo' range if you're just starting out :)

Do you read your comments?
Every. Single. One. The support and feedback you give me is beautiful and often overwhelming I'm truly sorry I cannot reply to everyone (If I did I would never get any drawing done XD) but I read them all, and so many of you have touched me more deeply then you'll ever know

Can I use your art for something personal/non profit?
Please do! I love it when people use my art for wallpapers/backgrounds/tattoos/scrapbooks
I also love to see my work shared, as long as credit is provided

Can I use your art for my commercial product?
No. You may not use my art for your financial gain.

Can I do a school assignment about you?
What an honour ^-^ Please feel free to, though I'm sorry I can't personally answer questions, I have covered a lot in my full FAQ: fav.me/d5x4z8h

Can I create something inspired by you?
Wow, yes! I adore seeing works I helped inspire  Please do. Stuff like this makes my day :)

Where can I buy prints?
You can order signed prints which I produce and sign personally form my store: www.storenvy.com/DestinyBlue
Online stores closed, selling exclusively at conventions at the moment  :)

I have more questions!
That's not actually a question ;)
But if you would like to know anything more please check out my long full FAQ here: fav.me/d5x4z8h

Thank you!

Sorry for the delay in opening! I don't know if you know, but I personally print, package and ship every order from my webshop. It means I can be happy knowing I'm giving you the best quality product, and you can be happy knowing you really are supporting the artist! (I was making less than 10% on sales through Society6)

I'm sure most of you know about my health issues now, (if not start here:  Depression by DestinyBlue then here: Fix Me by DestinyBlue) Which is why the stores been closed for so long... so I'm very pleased to report I am now well enough to be able to manage to print and ship orders out! Yay!
(Three months without income has been hard, but to be honest, it's been the least of my worries :))

Because it's Easter Holidays, prints wont go in the post until Tuesday, (Who opens their shop on a holiday, eh? XD)

I appreciate all orders, so thank you in advance :bluehearts: Bright Blue - heart :bluehearts:

I'd also like to welcome everyone over from reddit and facebook!
A facebook page with 7 million followers shared by art yesterday, and today, right now, my painting Tiger Tiger Tiger Tiger by DestinyBlue is on the front page of reddit! XD
I'm blown away by all the support - and excited to think that there is a new world of people discovering my artwork right now

~~Welcome to you all!

Thanks everyone

Peace, Love and Prints,
Blue xx

Good evening miss Blue,

Perhaps you won't respond to this but I enjoy saying I am a friend to a few with struggles. One is my beloved, we may live apart but I swear to bring her into my life and make hers as best as can be.

She's also a fine artist and I have the privilege to be her muse. I am also her "number 1" fan XD

I pray your day is overwhelmingly positive, and if not then balanced and not too heavy.

Blessings to you.

Hi... Just ran across your page... WOW!!!!!
I'm very impressed! And I'm never impressed.. Or hardly ever...
You have some fantastic work here! Dark, fantastical, otherworldly....
You have a great eye for color, contrast and design.
I really like the moods and atmospherics in each piece.
Your level of blending and color manipulation and control is super advanced and very, very professional.
Quite a high level of expertise...
Very mysterious, mystical and otherworldly moods on display here.
Keep developing your unique and personal style and vision!
And remember... The night is your friend... Keep mining it for inspiration!
And of course, keep slaying!

Hey, Blue,
I'm Breezyfeather and am a first-year student in a Vermont college in the USA. I've admired you and adored your work for some time now, especially as a fellow sufferer of mental illness (anxiety and I'm fairly certain there's some depression thrown in there). I thought I should let you know that my final project for my art class this semester involves focusing on an artist, either historical or contemporary, and I chose to focus on you :) The assignment is to 'forge' one of this artist's works and then create a piece in their style, as well as write a brief 2 page paper on the artist's techniques in the piece you forged and how their environment affected their art. I hope you don't mind; I won't post it online, but I copied Warpaint in pencil, using red pastels for the lipstick on the girl's face.
I thought I'd let you know that you're an extremely talented, beloved, wondrous inspiration :) Thank you for being you! You'll get through this battle <3

Tag a quality deviant, You’re it! Quality doesn’t mean that you
have a lot of followers, or a lot of messages. It means that you’re
nice to other people, and you deserve to be happy. If you get this
message, someone is telling you that they love you as you are,
and they don’t care how much followers you have. Send this to 10
deviants who deserve it. If you break the chain, nothing will
happen. But it’s just good to let someone know that you love them

Hello, I saw your art for the first time at Supanova (Australia) this year.
I was captured by the emotion and the positive messages you portray.
Thank you for putting what is still a stigmatised topic out there and helping chip away at the stigma and also educating people too.
Your art is beautiful and has such soul in it.
Thank you for sharing it with us.

Have you considered making some of your prints in a tarot/inspiration card style with the quotes (like for Bulletproof and War Paint) in the border like you had on the display prints at supanova? Something is an A5/A6 size that people could have with them to remind them to stay strong and how far they've come? Just thought it might be a cool idea.

I just wanted to tell you that of all deviants that I watch you are my biggest inspiration. I have always enjoyed your art even before I had my DA account. Until I had this account I didn't know about the troubles you had been going through and when I read most of your updates, I always hoped you would get better.
I know what it's like to have depression cause I have it and I don't always tell people this. Your my inspiration because you put so much effort into your heart no matter what, even with your struggles it's beautiful that you express yourself in art.
I thank you for inspiring me in not only art but in life all together.
- Sami (Redpandaart)
