Words of Thanks

I wish I could personally thank every single one of you who has shown me and my art support, it's not always possible to reply personally to each comment I get. I do read every single one!
So I must give a heartfelt thank you here and let you know how much I appreciate all of your kind words and support over the years.
I hope continuing sharing with you little pieces of my soul through my art is thanks enough

FAQ

Where did you learn to draw?
I'm completely self taught! My high school art teacher told me cartoons were not art, so I didn't peruse any formal education in art. My drive came from within, to draw something into existence has always been intoxicating for me.

Where do you get your inspiration?
Drawing is the way I can best express myself. My art is like a visual diary, documenting feelings, thoughts and events. I find my inspirations all over, most often in everyday life, or the need get crap out of my head onto paper.
Please don't let me darker work fool you. I'm naturally a cheerful person; who has struggled with tough times. During the hard times I use drawing as an escape, a way to vent and put my story on paper, to be constructive with the destructive thoughts. It's been a life saver.

Do you do commissions?
Never, sorry. If someone is controlling my pen with their money I find it stifling. Staying independent is really important to me. I need to tell my own stories, an I know you guys appreciate seeing original work :)

Do you do requests?
No, sorry. See above. Minus money. This includes drawing you XD

What tools do you use?
PhotoShop CS6 and SAI, and a Wacom intuos3 drawing tablet, or my snazzy new Cintiq Companion. I recommend looking at Wacoms 'Bamboo' range if you're just starting out :)

Do you read your comments?
Every. Single. One. The support and feedback you give me is beautiful and often overwhelming I'm truly sorry I cannot reply to everyone (If I did I would never get any drawing done XD) but I read them all, and so many of you have touched me more deeply then you'll ever know

Can I use your art for something personal/non profit?
Please do! I love it when people use my art for wallpapers/backgrounds/tattoos/scrapbooks
I also love to see my work shared, as long as credit is provided

Can I use your art for my commercial product?
No. You may not use my art for your financial gain.

Can I do a school assignment about you?
What an honour ^-^ Please feel free to, though I'm sorry I can't personally answer questions, I have covered a lot in my full FAQ: fav.me/d5x4z8h

Can I create something inspired by you?
Wow, yes! I adore seeing works I helped inspire  Please do. Stuff like this makes my day :)

Where can I buy prints?
You can order signed prints which I produce and sign personally form my store: destinyblue.storenvy.com/

I have more questions!
That's not actually a question ;)
But if you would like to know anything more please check out my long full FAQ here: fav.me/d5x4z8h

Thank you!

I've been here 5 days now, and haven't suffered too badly with jetlag this time thankfully. Physiologically it's still hard changing going though so many time zones. It's interesting, quite a few of the symptoms of jet-lag correlate with depression - tiredness, sluggishness, difficulty concentrating, irritability, co-ordination problems, so it's really been really interesting to observe these feelings from a different place and with a different perspective. Sure, it always takes some tole, and it's taken lots of concentration and self-kindness over the last few days, but I'm over the worst of and and feeling fresher than I've ever felt for the upcoming show! :D

One of the best things I've discovered during my recovery has been yoga. I found a great place next to my hotel, and got up every day for a morning stretchersize. Then went to the cafe next door to read - heaven!

I love this idea - tubes where you can leave your own mat! :D

I'm so glad I am in Sydney at the right time for VIVID, their annual light festival! There are loads of light sculptures and events - it's beautiful! One of the highlights is a projection light show on the Opera House!

And I was actually part of the festival ~~ Doing the Sydney Harbor Bridge Climb during the event, and wore a flashing jacket so everyone could see us from the ground! There is a light up dancefloor right on the highest part of the bridge, and our group danced out asses off up there!

Wish I could show you more drawings as well as photos - but I've managed to lose my Wacom tablet pen! Do'h!
Which means not only haven't I been able to finish the next chapters drawing, but that I can only make the crappyest of maps for Sydney and Perth Supanova:
Worstmapsyd by DestinyBlue
But you get the idea! XD
Sydney I'll be in at stand 22, in the Artist Alley (next to the dealers area)

Worstmap by DestinyBlue
Perth I'll be at stand 41, in the Alley and next to the dealers table again :)

But seridipidously, Wacom have a stand at the show - so fingers crossed I can pick up a pen tomorrow!

I'll be there at the show all three days, signing and selling prints, please do come and say hello - you don't have to buy anything! and I'm happy to sign business card

Night night all, I need a good sleep before the beast of a show starts!

Peace, Love, and Lights,
Blue xx

Hello! I absolutely adore your artwork, and wanted to let you know that my father relates with your art regarding depression, anxiety, etc. I'm glad that there are people who shows such things the way they truly are, rather than over-glorifying it.

Haha, there will be some more art soon, my progress is slow with drawing at the moment, as my main focus is looking after myself and recovering from mental illness :)
